Spotes Notes, 2.26.08: Keeping Up with Clemens

Ku-seli-as, not Ka-seli-us; Ku-seli-as, not Ka-seli…. sorry, you caught me talking to myself – getting Eric Kuselias’ name correct (I misspelled it in yesterday’s Spotes Notes and had to go back and correct it)….

Anyway, the “big” news of yesterday-today (actually, I feel the article below this on about the Nets is a much bigger deal, but hey, I’m twisted) is that there is a “draft letter” drawn up by staff members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform asking the Justice Department to proceed with an investigation into whether or not Roger Clemens was lying to Congress:

A draft letter referring Clemens, but not his accuser Brian McNamee, had been drawn up by staff members for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform by the end of last week, according to two of the lawyers. But all three lawyers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly on the matter, said it was possible that McNamee would also be included in the referral by the time it was sent to the Justice Department.
