2008 Hall of Fame Selections Announced – Tagliabue, Carter Snubbed

dgreen.jpgThe new additions to the Pro Football Hall of Fame are: Darrell Green (DB), Art Monk (WR), Fred Dean (DE), Emmitt Thomas (DB), Andre Tippett (LB) and Gary Zimmerman (OL).

Darrell Green played cornerback his entire career for the Washington Redskins from 1983-2002. He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro. Green played an amazing 295 games in his 20-year career and finished 54 interceptions.

Art Monk played for the Redskins from 1980-1993, 1994 with the New York Jets, and retired after playing three games with the Philadelphia Eagles. Monk retired with 940 receptions, at the time the most in NFL history. Monk was a three-time All-Pro and played in three Pro Bowl games.

Spygate: There’s Something Fishy Going On

trophyhelmets.jpgThis piece began as an innocuous update on what was known as “Videogate” and has now, by ESPN, been turned into “Spygate.” As the update was being written, new news broke and with it came a revelation, of sorts.

First, I want to ask people to use the original name, “Videogate” instead of “Spygate” which is way too obvious and far too sensationalistic. That subtle and unnoticed name change has subtly acted to alter the way the incident is being viewed. It is now more nefarious, more sinister. It implies that we need to dig deep into the rabbit hole that is Bill Belichick’s NFL and find him to be the holder of secrets on the order of ———– the CIA.
